How Much Does a Month of Muay Thai Cost on Koh Phangan?
A month of training in Thailand is one of the best things you can do for your fitness, your confidence and your love of the sport. It's also one of the easiest trips to budget for once you know what to expect. In this guide we break down the real costs of a month of Muay Thai on Koh Phangan, using our own 2026 prices at Diamond Muay Thai as a worked example.

The short answer
At Diamond Muay Thai, an all-inclusive month of Train & Stay costs from 24,000B to 40,000B per person, depending on your room. That covers all group Muay Thai, your accommodation, two meals a day, ice baths, yoga, fitness classes and 24/7 gym access. Weekly Train & Stay starts from 7,000B (approx. $200).
If you'd rather sort your own room and food, training only costs 7,000B a month for one session a day, or 10,000B for two.
Option 1: Training only
Training-only suits you if you're already staying on the island, or you want to choose your own villa or bungalow.
| Group training | 1 session a day | 2 sessions a day |
|---|---|---|
| 1 week | 2,000B (6 sessions) | 3,000B (12 sessions) |
| 1 month | 7,000B (24 sessions) | 10,000B (48 sessions) |
Tip: pay in full at least a month in advance and you save 10% on training-only packages (weekly, monthly and 10-cards). Prepaid discounted packages are non-refundable.
On top of training, you'll need to budget for a room, food and getting around. These costs vary a lot with the season and your taste, but as a very rough guide: rooms on Koh Phangan aren't cheap. At the time of writing, a basic fan room starts at around 10,000B a month, and an air-conditioned apartment starts at around 20,000B. Eating mostly local Thai food usually comes to roughly 9,000B a month, and more if you like Western cafés. A rented scooter is usually around 2,500–5,000B a month.
Option 2: All Access pass
Our Diamond All Access pass costs 18,000B a month (or 5,000B a week). It includes everything in Train & Stay except the room and meals: two sessions a day, yoga, fitness classes, ice baths and 24/7 gym access. It's a good middle ground if you've already booked somewhere to stay but want the full recovery side of camp life.
Option 3: All-inclusive Train & Stay
This is what most of our long-stay students choose, because it takes all the planning off your plate. You just turn up and train.
| Room (per person) | Weekly | Monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Single bamboo bungalow (fan, mosquito net) | 7,000B | 24,000B |
| Deluxe triple room AC (shared by three) | 7,000B* | 24,000B |
| Deluxe twin room AC (shared by two) | 7,500B | 26,000B |
| Single AC bamboo hut with en-suite | 9,000B | 32,000B |
| Deluxe single room AC (double bed) | 10,000B | 35,000B |
| Deluxe suite AC (off-site, 5-minute walk) | 12,000B | 40,000B |
*Weekly triple-room stays are charged plus electricity. A month is 28 nights, and the minimum stay is one week. Every room has wifi and a warm shower, with towels and bedding provided.
Every Train & Stay package includes:
- Two 2-hour Muay Thai sessions a day, Monday to Saturday
- Two home-cooked meals a day (vegetarian options available)
- Ice baths twice a week
- Yoga for Muay Thai: 3 × 90-minute classes a week
- Muay Thai for Fitness: 2 classes a week
- 24/7 gym access
- Your accommodation, on-site or a short walk away
When you add up a month of training, rent, two meals a day and recovery sessions separately, an all-in package is usually the simplest and best-value way to do it. As one student put it in a Google review: "Great value for money. The friendliest trainers and they make you and your training companions feel welcome and part of the family."
Extras to budget for
Even on an all-inclusive package, a few things are up to you:
- Private lessons. Group classes include one-to-one pad rounds, but many students add privates to fast-track their technique. A 1-hour private costs 700B, or 6,000B for a 10-card. Personal training with Jinks is also 700B an hour.
- Room cleaning and fresh sheets. 300B a time. There are local express laundry services nearby for your clothes.
- Your third meal and snacks. Train & Stay covers two meals a day. Carrot's Bar beside the mats does coffee, protein shakes and fruit shakes.
- Getting around. Lots of students hire a scooter on Sundays to explore the island, usually for a few hundred baht a day. Wear a helmet and only ride if you're experienced.
- Kit. Gloves, shin guards and wraps are free to borrow, so you don't have to buy anything. Our shop stocks Diamond gear, Fairtex and Twins if you want your own.
- Fight night. Watching a fight at Thong Sala or Baan Tai stadium is a great night out, and even better when you're cheering on a teammate.
When to book
Our high season runs from November to May. In that period we limit drop-in students to keep a good trainer-to-student ratio, and the best rooms go first. If you're coming then, book early. A non-refundable deposit secures your Train & Stay place, and we'll confirm the details when you book. We accept direct bank transfers or payment apps such as Revolut, and we recommend Wise for a good exchange rate. Payments are normally non-refundable. That said, if you cancel at least a month ahead and we're able to fill your room, a refund is sometimes possible, as long as the gym isn't left out of pocket.
