Training

I've never done Muay Thai. Can I still come?

Absolutely. Beginners are welcome at every session. We break the Art of Eight Limbs down into simple steps and teach you to use your fists, elbows, knees and shins safely. Our trainers give plenty of one-to-one attention, so you'll never be left to work it out alone, and every session is built to challenge all fitness levels, so you don't need to be fit before you arrive. If you'd like to try us first, your first lesson is just 300B. Everyone is different, so listen to your body: all classes are optional, and you can build up at your own pace. Read Your First Week as a Beginner to see what to expect.

What are your training times?

We train twice a day, Monday to Saturday: 08:00–10:00 and 16:00–18:00. Sunday is our rest day.

What happens in a typical session?

Each session lasts two hours. You'll warm up with skipping or a light run, then do shadowboxing, one-to-one pad work with a trainer, bag work, clinch and controlled technical sparring. We finish with conditioning and a proper stretch. Lessons are always varied, so no two sessions are the same and training never gets boring.

Can I have a fight while I'm here?

Yes, if you're ready and willing to put the work in. Our students fight every month at stadiums on Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, and we're in your corner on fight night. Fighter training adds morning runs, harder conditioning and sparring planned around your opponent.

Is Diamond a good place for women?

Women train with us all the time. In shared rooms we try to place women together, although rooms are booked first come, first served.

Getting Here & What to Bring

Where are you, and how do I get there?

We're at 145/8 Moo 1, Nai Wok, Koh Phangan: a 2-minute walk from Nai Wok beach and a 5-minute drive from Thong Sala, the main town. There's a 7-Eleven right by the gym for snacks, water and everyday essentials. Most people arrive by ferry at Thong Sala Pier, which is a quick 5-minute songthaew (shared taxi) ride or about a 15-minute walk away. The quickest route is to fly to Koh Samui and take a 30–50 minute ferry. The budget route is to fly to Surat Thani and buy a joint bus and ferry ticket. Full directions are on our Plan Your Trip page.

Do I need to bring my own gear?

No. Gloves, shin guards and hand wraps are free to borrow. Your own mouthguard and groin guard will fit best. Bring light training clothes, a gym towel, antibacterial soap, running shoes and flip-flops. Train & Stay rooms come with towels and bedding. Our on-site shop stocks Diamond gear plus Fairtex and Twins if you'd like to upgrade. Our What to Pack guide has the full list.

Booking

How do I book, and do I need to pay a deposit?

Email diamondmuaythaibookings@gmail.com, or use the booking form on our Contact page, with your dates and the package you'd like. Team DMT will get back to you to confirm. A non-refundable deposit secures your place on a Train & Stay package, and we'll confirm the details when you book. We accept direct bank transfers or payment apps such as Revolut, and we recommend Wise for a good exchange rate.

What if I need to change or cancel?

Payments are normally non-refundable, but we'll always try to help. If you cancel at least one month before you arrive and we're able to fill your room, we can sometimes offer a refund, as long as the gym isn't left out of pocket. We may also be able to move your dates, so just get in touch.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes, the minimum stay for Train & Stay is one week. If you're only training, you can drop in for a single class (400B), but in high season (November–May) we limit drop-ins to keep a good trainer-to-student ratio, so please check at the front office first.
