Our Trainers
We are incredibly proud of our team at Diamond, and we believe their skills make us the best Muay Thai gym in South Thailand for beginners and pros.
Our team is led by Kru Chok Rittisak, a former Rajadermnen champion and one of only a few fighters in history to win the Yellow Jacket for over 10 consecutive rightful defences!
Most of our fighters are former champions and title-holders, while a few are young, up-and-coming fighters.
Kru Baow is currently fighting on MX Xtreme, while Kru Pok’s son,16-year old Arm, is preparing for his first Bangkok fight! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date with their fights!
Kru Mon
There’s no-one quite like Mon. A 100+ fight veteran, Mon was the Thai Army Muay Thai Champion at 54kg, known as ‘The Standing Wave’ for the fluidity, grace and power of his style.
At Diamond, Mon is known as the Muay Thai Yoda. Spoke of in awed whispers by the new students, Mon will appear at just the right time to offer a piece of mystical yet practical advice to a struggling student, before melting mysteriously back into the ether.
Mon is a freestyle pad holder - he allows students to use whatever strikes they like, relying on his Jedi reflexes to anticipate their attacks as well as to counter them. Learning from Mon is a unique and incredibly valuable experience - he loves to teach and, no matter how experienced you are, he has much to teach you!
Mon is currently taking a break as he recovers from a car accident. He is always in our thoughts and we have been happy to see his incredible progress.
Kru Chok
Chok first fought at ten years old - even though he had no experience apart from fighting at home with his brother! He soon afterwards left home to live and train at a distant gym, and by the age of eighteen, he was fighting in Bangkok.
In Bangkok, Chok rose through the ranks and eventually won the Rajadermnen Yellow Jacket, for defending his title belt ten times.
Now, he is our head trainer and a great asset. Chok ensures training is varied, tough and technical, and his experienced eye can easily see where students’ strengths lie, and how to bring out the best in them.
Kru Pok
With the swagger of a pirate and a grin as wide as Russia, Pok is an endless source of energy and fun at Diamond. He always keeps the music blasting as he dances through training sessions, in which his enthusiasm and vast experience allow him to quickly progress his students.
Not only is Pok a multiple times Rajadermnen and Lumpini Champion, he is also a champion boxer. He has fought in Australia, Oman, Singapore and Korea and spent a year teaching Muay Thai in Morocco.
Nowadays, Pok is always busy training his students and his son Arm, who after starting Muay Thai three years ago is already preparing for his first fight in Bangkok! This father and son team are looking unstoppable.
Kru Baow
Because one Baow wasn’t enough!
New Baow is a solid addition to the Diamond team. He has the warm, contented air of a bear full of honey, and cares passionately about the development of his students. His bigger build means he can take whatever you can throw at him.
Tuk
One of our youngest trainers at Diamond, Tuk is a quiet and patient presence at the gym with a graceful, deceptively fast fighting style. His most recent fight was a head kick knockout. Tuk is an excellent person to spar with because he spars gently and focuses on technique and timing.
Kru Baow
Kru Baow is a mighty presence in the gym. A fighter since the age of nine, this thick-limbed and formidable warrior has an aggressive style which has floored opponents in the Bangkok stadiums and on Thai Fight, Max Muay Thai and MX Muay Xtreme.
For students preparing to fight, Baow will most likely be the one putting you through your paces before fight day. His larger frame makes him a great pad holder for bigger guys, while his smiling face, endless enthusiasm and loudspeaker-voice keep everyone in the gym motivated!
Kru Ip
If Diamond Muay Thai were a pack of cards, Ip would definitely be the joker! Ip loves to sing and dance as much as he loves to spar and clinch, and his presence ensures that training sessions never get too serious.
That said, Ip is far more than a comedy character. A 100+ fight veteran who has fought across Southern Thailand, Ip is a phenomenally talented trainer who pushes students to exceed their limits during paid sessions. His stocky frame makes him a great pad holder and clinch partner for students of all sizes, and he has a knack for giving just the right instruction to help you move your technique forward.
Kru Heem
A former Bangkok fighter, Kru Heem retired from the fighting life when he was in his mid 20s and now spends his time training Diamond students proper Muay Thai technique at Diamond Muay Thai. A positive and friendly presence, Kru Heem is very good at spotting where students need improvement.
Arm
Although not a trainer at Diamond, Arm is a constant presence at Diamond Muay Thai and an excellent sparring partner! At only 15 years old, he already has 20+ fights and will be soon fighting in the larger promotions in Bangkok. His father and coach is trainer Kru Pok.
Kru Santos
Santos couldn’t tell you how many fights he has had. After 400, he stopped counting.
Brother to the late Muay Thai superstar Nokweed Davy, Santos has fought at Lumpini and Rajadermnen and won multiple South Thailand titles in multiple weight divisions. His iron-hard limbs, superhuman toughness and fearsome fight IQ made him an opponent to be feared.
Santos brings a touch of the old-school to Diamond. He expects results, and he gets them. If you’re willing to work hard to get the skills you want, be sure to seek Santos out!
Kru Laan
Laan joined us as a promising young fighter and soon proved himself to be an indispensable part of the Diamond training team. Around the gym, he has a quiet, humble air and his peaceful smile rarely leaves his face.
In the ring, Lan moves like a leopard; quick, agile, graceful and ferocious. Watching Laan fight after training with him all day is a classic Diamond experience; he leaves audiences awed by his lightning-fast kicks and superb sweeps. By the following afternoon, he’s usually back in the gym!
Kru Nop
Nop is small in size but is a giant presence at Diamond Muay Thai!
His cheerful personality and excellent English make him very popular among beginners, while experienced students will be tested in his pad sessions - he loves to throw in super-fast strikes of his own to test students’ reflexes.
Nop is a great trainer to seek out for clinch practice. Students will gather round the ring to watch in amazement as he locks with students twice his size - and puts them on the floor, faster than the eye can follow! Nop is passionate about teaching and a joy to learn from.
